ADMISSION TO POLYTECHNICS:
I. Diploma Entrance Examinations (DEE)
- Students who have passed 10th class with Maths and Science pass from any recognized board are eligible to apply for Diploma Engineering and Fashion courses. Diploma programs under AICTE are in the level 3 of NCrF level.
- Students who have passed 10th class with Mathematics and Science as pass are eligible to apply for Diploma Interior and Architecture Assistantship courses.
- Admission to Polytechnics shall be done on the basis of merit in DEE.
- No student will be allowed to refund their admission fees once admitted.
- Replacements and change of branch/course if any for admission to the Polytechnics should be done within a maximum period of 15 days from the notified last date of admission.
- Admission fees of students has to be deposited to Government through treasury challan and the statement of the same along with treasury challan should be submitted to the Director within one month after the last date of admission is over.
- If any Principal failed to deposit the admission fees in time by retaining the students fees for more than a month after the last date of admission is over, necessary action deemed fit shall be initiated against such Principal.
- No Principal will be allowed to divert the students admission fees for any other purpose in any case.
- Detail information including all academic records, certificates and contact numbers of students parent has to be submitted during admission, without which admission should not be allowed.
ITI Lateral Entry
- The eligibility criteria is 10th + 2 year ITI shall be eligible for admission to Second Year Diploma Course(s) in any branch of Engineering and Technology.
- All the above rules apply except Point No. a), b) & c) do not apply. The Selection of the ITI pass out students will be based on the merit of their Academic marks/records.
- Lateral Entry to second year (Semester-III) Diploma course shall be permissible up to a maximum of 10% of the Approved intake which shall be over and above, supernumerary to the Approved Intake, plus the unfilled vacancies of the first year.
12th Pass Lateral Entry (Under Process)
- Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/ Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Entrepreneurship as per table 1.3(a).
- All the above rules apply except Point No. a), b) & c) do not apply. The Selection of the 12th pass out students will be based on the merit of their Academic marks/records.
- Lateral Entry to second year (Semester-III) Diploma course shall be permissible up to a maximum of 10% of the Approved intake which shall be over and above, supernumerary to the Approved Intake, plus the unfilled vacancies of the first year.
- 10% of 12th lateral entry is inclusive of the ITI Lateral Entry students
- The duration is 2 years for Lateral entry to all Diploma programs

II. Reservation of seats:
a) 15% reservation shall be made for BT on the basis of one tribe one seat as per DEE merit.
b) 5% of the seats intake will be reserved to differently able/Physically Handicapped students. The selection of students shall be made as per disability conditions prescribed by Medical Council of India/State in its notification in this regard.
c) 10% female students reservation to total intake of the course in all the courses to be applied.
d) 10% to be reserved to non-locals in all courses except Civil Engineering course.
e) In the event there are no takers from the above a), b), c) & d) categories, then the seats shall be de-reserved to the General ST Naga students.

III. SEMESTER ADMISSION:
- Semester admission shall be done as per the Academic Calendar provided by the Directorate of Technical Education, Nagaland.
- No student shall be allowed to re-register any subject without taking semester admission in any of the term I to term VI, whichever is applicable.
